Did you know there are at least 11 Get Carter film locations in the heart of Newcastle? And just over the Tyne, a short walk away is the site of the iconic 'Get Carter Car Park'. You might be a big man (or woman) and a bit out of shape but don't fear, you will be walking in the very steps, the legend that is Sir Michael Caine walked. So dig out your Aquascutum black trench coat, your shotgun (actually best leave that at home) and let's walk the Get Carter walk. Oh and we'll be ending our tour with a stop off for some liquid refreshments, in a thin glass of course... "Enjoy your tour with these hugely knowledgeable people, it's no small thing to make me believe that the people doing tours like this are genuine, but I do. These are people who can do a great job taking you to the sites of my father's film production of Get Carter and my own documentary about it which we are currently near to finishing. This is an approximately three hour walk, taking in not just the Get Carter locations but also highlighting Newcastle's historical and cultural landmarks. We will stop half way for a refreshment break at one of Newcastle Quayside's hidden treasures 'the secret garden' before starting the second part of the walking tour. We hope you enjoy it. Remember to be prepared for all weathers!
