PS - A little bit of mod history for you to explain the name of our vintage fair. In 1960s Newcastle one of the mods favourite Saturday afternoon hangout was the Handyside Arcade. This fabulous arcade was stuffed full with small independent shops selling clothing, art, records, posters, vintage and little coffee shops. The arcade hosted a 'Love In' in the late 60s which was captured on film (google Handyside Arcade Love In). The arcade was a magnet for sub cults of Newcastle which carried on until the 80s with Mods, Skins, Goths, Hippies all congregating in the arcade with sometimes the odd punch up between rival factions ... Sadly, with a huge lack of foresight, it was knocked it down to build a car park.. yes, a car park.
