The Pit, Afternoon Sessions

VENUE: The Town Wall, Basement Room

Come along to The Pit, our afternoon sessions where we will be playing British R&B, Mod Classics and Club a' Gogo sounds on vinyl.  So expect to hear: The Animals, The Rolling Stones, original Blues such as John Lee Hooker, Slim Harpo, Sonny Boy Williamson, Them, Pretty Things, Spencer Davis Group, John Mayall, Cream, The High Numbers, Yardbirds, Kinks, Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green), Geno Washington, Garnett Mimms, Zoot Money and Motown, Stax and Bluebeat.  If you can't dance to that lot then you haven't got a pulse! Weekends will never be the same again...

The Pit is a friendly and non elitist club and all are welcome, we'd love to meet you!  See you on the dancefloor folks...

PS - A little  bit of mod history for you to explain the name The Pit.  In 1960s Newcastle the mods favourite Saturday afternoon hangout was a basement coffee shop called The Paletta.  The mods nicknamed it 'The Pit' and it was where they went to see and be seen.  We are big on remembering Newcastle's mod history hence the name for our Saturday afternoon sessions.
