Time & Location
About the Event
Oh yes, its The Pit's Christmas Party and we want you all to come! To celebrate the end of this flippin nightmare of a Covid pandemic lets party like the world is (not) going to end! Think old school Christmas party, with tinsel, party poppers, daft hats and streamers... oh and we might even sling on a bit of Slade too, why the hell not?!! As well as the usual Pit sounds of British R&B, Mod Classics and Club a' Gogo faves expect a certain level of cheesiness, its Christmas after all! So dust off that naff Santa hat, get your glad rags on and lets have one hell of party!!! If you can't dance at Christmas then you haven't got a pulse! See you on the dancefloor and a ho! ho! ho!
VENUE: THE TOWN WALL (Basement Room), Pink Lane
We expect this to sell out quickly so do not delay with this one!
As well as Christmas floor fillers expect to hear our usual The Animals, The Rolling Stones, original Blues such as John Lee Hooker, Slim Harpo, Sonny Boy Williamson, Them, Pretty Things, Spencer Davis Group, John Mayall, Cream, The High Numbers, Yardbirds, Kinks, Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green), Geno Washington, Garnett Mimms, Zoot Money and Motown, Stax and Bluebeat. If you can't dance to that lot then you haven't got a pulse! Merry Christmas!!
The Pit is a friendly and non elitist club and all are welcome, we'd love to meet you! See you on the dancefloor folks...
PS - A little bit of mod history for you to explain the name The Pit. In 1960s Newcastle the mods favourite Saturday afternoon hangout was a basement coffee shop called The Paletta. The mods nicknamed it 'The Pit' and it was where they went to see and be seen. We are big on remembering Newcastle's mod history hence the name for our Saturday afternoon sessions.
